IDT Australia has been in the Australian pharmaceutical sector for more than 4 decades.

The company’s facility is licensed to cultivate cannabis and manufacture medicinal CBD and THC oil medicines under the Good Manufacturing Practice certification (cGMP).

IDT Australia is also developing its own range of medicinal cannabis products for local and international markets.

The manufacturer says it is progressing development of medicinal cannabis flower-in-bottle and oil-in-bottle products, several of which are now on the market. It is also advancing a pipeline of new development opportunities aimed at establishing the company’s Boronia facility as a centre of excellence for medicinal cannabis product manufacturing.

2021

The company announced a commercial partnership with Clever Leaves for the supply of 2 varieties of bulk GACP-certified medical cannabis flower-in-bottle from Clever Leaves’ facility in Portugal.

The company entered into a master services agreement and services order with the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences to provide cGMP manufacturing services to produce drug product for MIPS’ mRNA COVID-19 receptor binding domain vaccine clinical trial.

The company announced Australia’s first mRNA COVID-19 vaccine candidate to be successfully produced.

2024

The company secured a master service agreement with Sanofi Australia for the support of its cGMP-manufacturing of Sanofi’s global mRNA assets which are under development. The contract entails the advancement of mRNA-based vaccine formulation, development, and the manufacture of clinical trial material, targeting various indications.

The company was awarded a grant for the construction of its cGMP facility which will be the first of its kind in in Australia from the Victorian government.

2025

The company secured a 5-year manufacturing contract with Nacuity Pharmaceuticals for NPI-001 which is an investigational treatment for retinitis pigmentosa with potential annual follow-up contracts. In order to make this possible, the company is recommissioning its 4,000L cGMP manufacturing plant which is the largest small molecule API-facility in Australia.

The company signed a MoU with Gelteq for the construction of a dedicated, Australian-based manufacturing facility to support the development and scale up of Gelteq’s gel- based pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and animal health products.
